Abi(she/her) and Nikki(she/her) met in Charleston, SC in 2014, bonding over a shared love for food and adventure. 4 years later, they got married and uprooted their lives. In February 2019, the newlyweds turned a van into a tiny home and hit the road. They visited as many National Parks as possible, became avid hikers, and quickly fell in love with the nomadic lifestyle. However, after months of fun on the road, they felt something was missing. Craving community, they founded Vanlife Pride. It started as an Instagram account in 2019 with a mission to provide visibility and connection for queer nomads who lacked representation in the big social media accounts at the time. In January 2022, Abi and Nikki organized the very first annual Vanlife Pride gathering. Abi and Nikki are beyond grateful for this community and to have started something with such a beautiful, lasting impact.
Kristin is originally from Indianapolis, IN and has been on the road for over 4 years. About two years into her nomadic journey, she finally had the courage to share her true self with the world. She is now an openly proud lesbian traveling with her partner and their two dogs in a camper van. Since coming out, her passion for queer community has continuously grown and she is proud to be able to run an organization that fosters queer community on the road. Queer community saved her life and she hopes to continue providing that safe space for queer folks and allies!
